ToodleAir 0.23

July 19th, 2009

I know, it’s been awhile, but I finally got around to updating ToodleAir. Nothing exciting in this release, unless you had special symbols in your email or password. Thanks to everybody who let me know about that bug.

If you can’t see the flash installer above, click here to install the app.

You will need Adobe Air, which you can get here

    I changed my password on toodledo and now Toodleair will not work, presumably because it is referencing the old password. How do I change the password toodleair is looking at? I tried uninstalling and re-installing but that did not help. Running Windows XP SP2. Thanks

    @Lance
    Type: `Logout
    that should bring you back to the login screen. Let me know if that worked for you

    I saw that in the comments and had tried it but, I cannot type into the window. I tried typing it while the app had focus but still nothing. Should I tweak a registers or config file. Also this is a great app and I appreciate your response.

    fyi — the link from the toodledo website points to an older version of ToodleAir… almost bit me. I suggest changing to a link to a landing page that points to latest version?

  6. August 25th, 2009 at 11:02 | #6

    Thanks for the heads up, I’ll have them update it

    Excellent! is there a hotkey that I can use to pop the New Task window to front and give it focus?

  8. August 25th, 2009 at 11:03 | #8

    @Lance
    Is the window have the two email/password inputs or just the one input box?

  9. Lance
    August 26th, 2009 at 06:29 | #9

    just one input box

  10. Lance
    August 26th, 2009 at 06:52 | #10

    the one input box, say ‘No Key Specified’

  11. August 26th, 2009 at 07:20 | #11

    @Lance
    You are not able to type in that box at all?

  12. Lance
    August 26th, 2009 at 07:31 | #12

    Is there a way to include a due time, not just a day?

    Thanks

  14. August 28th, 2009 at 19:35 | #14

    Is this only for adding items? Can I not see my to-do items?

    Just wanted to let you know I was able to get the `Logout to work and change my password. When I accessed the app away from work and outside of vpn.

    @TwisterMc
    This is just a tool for adding tasks. At this time you cannot see your todo list

  17. August 30th, 2009 at 21:56 | #17

    @Adam
    not at this time. I’ll add that to a future release

    Hey i’m loving this app! I read on some old post that there was some workings of this app being able to let you view your tasks. Do we know when that might happen? Thanks!

  20. September 11th, 2009 at 20:53 | #20

    Hi!
    This is a very good application, but i’m getting some problems with accentuation and special characters. If I type a phrase with special characters, like ‘ç’, the task goes into toodledo truncated after the ‘ç’.

    Please, consider reviewing this issue.

    Thanks and keep on the good work.

    Hey,

    Thanks for creating this tool. For some reason, it hangs when I try to run it. I’m using Ubuntu 9.04 with the free version of Toodledo. I have never been able to login as the problem has been happening since the moment I installed. Any ideas?

    Cheers,
    Fitz

    I no longer see the input line. I uninstalled, and reinstalled 0.23 but it did not help. I’ve not been able to try out the * to try the pull down menu yet because I’ve been seeing this no input line issue for a while. I assumed it would be fixed in the next release but notice the error still exists. I can send screen shots if you’re interested in how it looks.+

    The syntax for due time “=” gives an incorrect date when sent to the Toodledo page. Are not all the syntax supported?

    Also, I cannot get the “`” key to do anything unless ToodleAir is already on top.

    Hi great app!

    Two questions:
    Is there a way to setup a hotkey to launch the app and/or make it focused?
    Also is there a way to disable to slide in animation. Find it tends to trigger a lot of times by accident.

    thx

    I also have the problems

    1. due times =14:00 oder =2pm are not added correctly, result ist december 31 1969

    2. “special characters” like ä,ö,ü, are not transmittet. it trunkates the text

  26. October 28th, 2009 at 11:51 | #26

    You could make use of something like Autohotkey to set the focus to the ToodleAir window, e.g.,

    #t:: ; win+t
    WinActivate, ToodleAir
    return

    Assuming that ToodleAir is open on your desktop, hitting Win+t will activate that window, fortunately putting the cursor in the entry box. Minimal testing done, but is working for me right now.

    It appears “No key specified” on the input screen. Any help?

  28. December 14th, 2009 at 20:05 | #28

    Is there any way to turn the autohide feature off? I use a dual monitor setup. Whatever I do, the ToodleAir window finds the center seam between the two monitors and then “hides” itself by sliding to the second monitor. I’m wondering whether there’s a way to turn this function off and simply minimize it to the taskbar or notification area?

    Thanks.

    Do you have any plans for displaying the hotlist or all tasks?

    Hi!
    How do I log in using OpenID?

  34. Nick
    January 19th, 2010 at 13:27 | #34

    @mikaelf
    Toodledo has an area in the settings where you can set a login e-mail and password. I ended up having to do it because most third party applications don’t allow you to login via OpenID (I think it is an API limitation).

    JGA: Is there support for command line task sending? That would rock. send the task using your syntax and exit immediately?

    I used a program called Spark on my Mac which does a great job of auto-activate ToodleAir when I press a pre-defined hotkey (I chose Command-Shift-Space).

    @Sam
    I too would like to be able to turn the always on-top off. I’m sure there is a way to do it I just need to know how. I’m going to continue to RTFM (the posts on this topic) but if anybody knows how please let me know.

    Additionally, I have tried to use the syntax for tagging a task and it appears that is not implemented. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong?

    Thanks. Toodleair is simple and great. Would be neat to have small timer or stopwatch that could be shown or hidden as an option. In line with the GTD lifestyle. I keep my Toodleair on top at all times, and thought how nice a baby timer on this always-on-top app, to keep me on task within certain timeframes. Just a thought.

    Thanks - this is great. I noticed a problem though: When using international characters (like the Swedish åäö) the to do-item gets cut off after that character.

  39. Daniel
    February 5th, 2010 at 08:32 | #39

    Thanks for a great application! However, I discovered that including Swedish characters (åäö) makes ToodleAir stop reading the input (So “Påminnelse” becomes “P” - which isn’t that informative)
